well this Miata Just got a new clutch and not even two days later the fuel pump gives out.... then it jumps timing..l. now it doesn't want to run at all!!! help me solve this problem! it wants to start but cant. also you cant hear the pump turn on. but it is brand new? im checking the wiring now.. thanks Subsribe for more!

Hey thank you for this. Having same exact problem with my car and gonna go try to check out my relay sensors now. I Changed soo much to the point where i was about to sell my miata.

For anybody coming across this video in 2018 and YOUR engine cranks but doesn't start. Petrol engines need 3 things to start: Oxygen, Fuel and Spark. You need to test these three things to find your issue. Reasons why it might be oxygen: Timing is off (valves not opening), timing belt broke (valves not opening or closing), no compression (least likely the issue). Reasons why it might be spark: Crank Angle Sensor is malfunctioning, bad coils, loose connections between ignition system, Blown fuse, I'm sure there are a few other reasons. Reasons why it might be fuel: Fuel pump (you can hear it prime) make sure the fuel pump is wired correctly. I have a good feeling that this is the culprit in this video. Clogged injectors, clogged fuel filter. All of these things can be checked with a Fuel Pressure gauge which can be rented from most auto stores. 99.9999% of cars who don't have issues with these three things should have a perfectly working car.

Man I swear aftermarket alarm systems cause more problems than they solve when they have to be hard wired. That relay should definitely click with as big as that sucker is. Try bypassing the relay? Hell, test the relay too. Supply it with 12v and ground and see if it actually switches.

***** After what seemed like forever yes haha. It ending up being a combination of bad timing.. and a bad fuel pump relay that would sometimes work. The relay is black and yellow and located under the steering column you cant miss it. Make sure the CAS is working. gently tap it with a hammer, (sometimes this works if they are going bad) and then check for fuel. Remember, its always going to something stupid with a mazda.

So I have a Mazda mx3 and it also has had a am alarm that was put in to lock outmode cus someone stole the stereo and to try to off the alarm they Cut all wires under dash then went to the hood and pulled all relays finally smashing the name fuse that stopped the alarm so I got it cheep but it has almost no miles on it so I want it to run I have removed the alarm returning every thing to factory but it is overfueling something fierce I have replaced all relays I have gas in it but dose not register and the low fuel light is on will start with a lot of work then runs fine supper snappy but then will not restart same thing .. anything?

I’m having a similar issue, was working fine before, rebuilt the head, timing is correct, have spark and have compression and fuel. However still none the wiser as to it cranking and no start. It did catch after cranking for ages and started, but cut out after 30 seconds and just keeps cranking again

Micah Channell yes compression loss, through the valves in the head, carbon build up on them, so clean the valves, and lap them

I'm having the same problem ...i have a 94 and it seems to crank and want to turn on and still nothing ignition coils ,fuel pump, replaced still nothing ....car turned off while driving

+Protektnserv04 Check main relay too. I did CAS/Main Relay/ Fuel pump and found out it was loose wires on my ECU smh.

well check your crankshaft pully and see if it wobbles of you do you keyway might be horribly worn out also did the cars low end feel like it has basically no power when driving it last? if so that also points at bad keyway

it was a bunch of hacked up electronics that finally gave out. after some rewire work it did run. The car was then disposed of and replaced by an acura. Thanks for your input thou!

My miata won't even crank, it has battery and I'm trying to figure out if I should replace the whole starter or if it a few cables.

Check your battery with a ohms reader with your key in the ignition see if its throwing a bunch of different readings ended up buying a whole new starter for my 91 and it still didn’t crank ended up being my alternator. Now my fuel pump wires don’t have any power coming through them so I’m gonna replace my fuel pump relay next and hopefully it starts.

i know this video is kinda old and idk if youre gonna reply but question, same thing is happening to my 92 right now. Replace the fuel pump and strainer, and fuel filter. but its still doing the same thing. what was wrong with yours and how did you replace it?

@@kyleurscott3303 The relay wasnt sending power to the pump. When you put the key into the accessory position, you should hear the fuel pump priming, a low buzzing sound, but his wasn't doing that. The issue was that his relay wasnt switching on, and not sending power to the fuel pump, hence the crank no start.

1991 does not have a crank sensor because it does not have odb2

@@valhallaholsopple ... i thought your model had a crank angle sensor on the flywheel and a cam angle sensor on the back of the exhaust cam .. My one has the cam sensor on the inlet .. and the crank sensor on the pulley

Under your steering column there is a black and yellow relay box. its the fuel pump relay. Replace that .we ended up bypassing ours with a piece of wire. But that's more then likely what it is! try that! hope it helps!

Hey , guys I need help so it started to rain one night start the car it start fine. When woke up the next day I try to crank it wouldn’t starts when I check I was not getting any spark I replaced the coil and the spark plugs , I retime it, I replaced the cas , I replaced the ingniter I tried everything I’m only getting spark I two cylinder with the stock ecu I thought the ecu was bad I replace it with speedy efi now I’m not getting any spark at all. When I crank It with the stock ecu it makes that pop sound.If anyone has the same issue please inbox. I just don’t know what is wrong.
