1991 MOD Defender 110 Hard Top Build

I purchased this Land Rover Defender 110 Hard Top from a government auction in Canada. It was used on a Canadian Base by the British Military for live fire exercises. It doesn't look like much but the core vehicle was in great shape!

Very nice build, I own an armoured snatch Land Rover, 3 tours of IRAQ with the British army and has been used heavily, but that hasn’t stopped it being restored by myself and my friend, now it looks almost new! Defenders are easily the cheapest, coolest and the best vehicle to rebuild or restore (well...in the U.K. it is, not sure how the parts supply for defenders is in the us) All the best, stay safe, Kind regards, Jack. I absolutely love the final product. I've been looking to this as well, but I can't find any MOD Defenders for sale. Do you have any tips for finding one like yours?

Thanks for the positive feedback! I've checked back at the government of Canada auction site a few times and have not seen any being sold. I believe the British military changed to domestic trucks to replace the Defenders used at the base in Canada. I know that a fair number were sold in western Canada so keeping an eye on resale sites as they require a fair bit of work to rebuild and maintain and some will tire of the effort. Good luck!

Hi Joao. It's called a Snow Cowel. I purchased mine at Paddock Spares online. It stops water and ice from entering the interior air intake.

@@joaorobertodesouzateteu9656 Also protects against rainwater, dead leaves and twigs entering the air intake duct for the heater fan. So, a cheap and worthwile investment.
