I remember watching this game at Chesdan's on Archer & Christiana. Can't believe this was 30 years ago! The season was going so well at this point too. Everything went wrong at the worst time. I still remember someone in the bar shouting out "Bear weather" when the snow started coming down. And then Clayton making that catch. That really wasn't pass interference but it didn't matter because Clayton caught it. This game really killed the 1991 season for the Bears. We lost a couple days later on Thanksgiving to the Lions. I thought the Bears would still take the division because the Lions had to play Buffalo in the last week, while we played the 49ers on Monday Night Football. The lions beat the Bills, and the Bears got their asses kicked by the 49ers. Instead of having a first round bye, the Bears played the Cowboys and lost that one too.

Only NFL game I ever attended, it was the coldest I have ever been in my entire life, snow was swirling off Lake Michigan. My mom recorded the game at home on VCR and the snow was horrible, hard to see anything (someone must have cleaned this one up). Two idiots in front of us had no shirts on and were turning a viking shade of purple. I only wanted to go home and it went to overtime, then that magic catch after pass interference and while laying on his back from Clayton... ugh.

That Jets game stung. Ouch. Miami gave us a lot of heartbreak in those years. 1993 started out 9-2 and collapsed to 9-7 without Marino of course. The Bills kicked us out in 90, 92, 95. 1994 was crushing because of the 22-21 loss in SD. That game should have belonged to Miami. Somewhere between 1990-95, Miami missed a golden chance or two to go to the Super Bowl.

@@MGAF688 Yeah so true..you know the season that Miami had the home field AFC Title game with Bills coming to town it felt like it was finally the time for #13 to get back to the SB. Think it was 93 or 94? As we grew accustomed to, Buffalo core defense of Smith, Talley etc always had a way of frustrating Dan and the Miami offense. Still the best QB to never win a SB in my opinion.

Tom Brady was just a passing robot who wasn't programmed to move left or right . He was just fortunate enough to play on one of the best all around teams of all time with the Pats in 2010s and with the sissy rules of today's football . He was also fortunate enough to play on the best all around team with Tampa this past year(even though the started out slow, they became monsters 2020-2021). Marino and about a dozen other quarterbacks were better than tommy bwady .
@pomerlain89242 жыл бұрын
I don't see those other QBs with 7 SB rings. Winning matters more than the number of passing yards and passing TDs. Not to mention, football is a team game. No QB has ever won a SB all by himself. They need a complete team to win. That's why lesser QBs than Marino have won SBs, like a Trent Dilfer or a Phil Simms. The Dolphins NEVER had a complete team for Marino. They had a good passing game, but not a good running attack or a good defense.

This loss wrecked the season for the '91 Bears. If they win this game, even with the loss on Thanksgiving at Detroit and the bludgeoning at SF in the final week they still win the NFC Central and get a first-round bye because they'd have won the tiebreak with the Lions based on a 7-1 division record vs. Detroit's 6-2.
