The theme song from the movie was called General's Mandate (将军令) which was originally composed in the Tang dynasty around 650-700 AD, and used mainly in the palace as ceremonial music and also in the army. The musical instruments used were created at least a thousand years before.

I'm sorry. but in my opinion, this musical version is BEAUTIFUL. however, this song is not about beauty. it's about being a HERO who keep fighting and improving and be the best of the best version of himself. this version is not delivering it. not even close. the music is beautiful but WEAK. it doesn't have the vibes of STRENGTH, SACRIFICE and HONOR that the original song delivered.

I grew up watching Jet Li as "Wong Fei Hung" in "Once Upon a Time in China." And I immediately fell in love with the theme song. This live instrumental of Once Upon a Time in China is so powerful and awe-inspiring. I get goosebumps. The drumming, strings and "erhu" is so iconic. Great job everyone!
