1992 chevy s-10 flowmaster vs thrush welded

I had bought a thrush welded muffler put it on my truck, didn't like the tone at all. I actually heard some high pitched pinging from the thrush , I know it was the muffler because the next day I put on this flowmaster.
This vs. Is heard best on good headphones or your home theatre.
I definitely love the tones and just everything about the flowmaster 40 series.

There shouldn't be anydifference in the tone, The Thrush welded is a flowmaster 40. Flowmaster actually tried to sue thrush for coppying the inside, but it didnt work. A muffler wonk make a pinging noise, Either way it sounds good. Ive got a thrush welded on my truck(98 dodge ram 3.9v6) sounds great. I wanted a flowmaster 40 with the black diamond plated steel but they were expensive.

Yeah Flowmaster tried to sue Thrush, but being Thrush made their muffler a 9 1/2” case and the flowmaster is a 10” case. It was case closed LoL

I'm a huge Flowmaster fan, however, you kinda skewed the results by installing the larger resonator tip as well. I'd have run a test with the original tip for the comparisons or installed the larger one for both. Either way it sounds good.

@danraich and I don't see why flowmaster tried to "sue" thrush if it's been out longer than flowmaster so flow master is the fake but people are just paying for the name when they buy a flowmaster not quality I guarantee that any thrush muffler will last much more longer than a flowmaster

Greenmonoluche that's actually not true. I have always ran flowmasters and they lasted for years. I bought a new thrush welded for a truck a picked up and the welds broke within 1 month and the rail pipe fell off along with the back half of the welded muffler. I figured it was a fluke and sold the truck shortly after. A couple years later (last year) I bought another truck and planned to keep it a couple years. Bought another thrush welded because I didn't think 2 could do it. Well on a vacation trip the same exact thing happened to this muffler and the back weld failed and ripped the back of the muffler off. So I welded it up after getting home. It's been 1 year with this welded and I have rust holes in the muffler. It is junk. But a flowmaster. They are not the same

Flowmasters can go weird also my friend has them on his rig with a ford 5.0l and they sound like shit really throaty and sound like something is pinging inside them also.

i can't tell any diffrence between the 40 and the thrush, the trush is 9.5 X 4 X 13 and the FM is 10X 4 X 13 case. you mite have gotten the delta 40's instead of the original 40
