A little fun fact: all the teams in this match went on to win a national championship. 126: 1992 45: 1998 111: 2003 190: 2007

Hey! That's me in the video driving for WPI/Doherty...man, that was a crazy day. The Delco team pissed me off in the first round. Back then I thought it was a cheap move, but it was a fair move looking back on it. Nothing against putting your own robot into the other teams "scoring" square to block us from getting all of our points. Our machine collected and kept all the balls like a dump truck and we had the easiest/fastest design to get the multipoint balls on top of the pipes, which worked to our advantage in the early rounds. We ended up winning the High Point "trophy" earlier. And we were the only team to have a female on one of the 2 controllers. I ended up getting my picture in the New York Times too. That was awesome for a 17 year old! So much has changed though in 30 years...

1922 student here. We just had load in for NE Districts Champs at the Big E, and your 1992 WPI robot was there on display. Needless to say I gawked for about 15 minutes lol Do you have any idea where I could find a game manual from 1992? I don't think I can find it online, and I want to read through it to see how it all started. Kinda awesome to see someone from the very beginning of it all...

I’m sad to say that some of us at PCH have done the math, a modern corn game would require 3 tons of corn (which would cost ~$2000), so we’re not getting corn game anytime soon

I mean the cost for frc registration is $6000, so maybe?

Yeah i agree, its so interesting to see the technological advancement in the past decade(s). Not only that, but also to learn the different challenging tasks they had to accomplish in the previous years.

Well, it WAS their first season. It's always shaky the first time. PS, no pun intended.

I think it is corn... must be indiana and is it just me or do those robots look like they are not 120 lbs, cordless, or barely under size specs like 1501.
