Drove a hino 700 series few years back best brakes on a truck ever. You have get a run in a scammell routeman, king of the muck away tippers and the sound of one is beautiful.

When I grew up most of the 8 by 4’s on the road were hino and it seemed like every second truck in construction was a hino , I could never understand why Pip Dunn was so negative about them in classic truck. In the late eighties and early nineties they got some abuse and seemed indestructible. I drove one for Barretts in Maynooth for a short time in 2000. It was so comfortable, gearbox was perfect, loads of power. Steering was like a car. Great truck to drive. Thanks Stavros

I remember you could wash the bed in the cab with a hosepipe. After about 2-days the floor would begin the stink. So then I started using Dettol to kill the bacteria. The third hi no that was allocated to me had the experimental Eaton 4/4 range change. Had to say it was a vast improvement on the ZF and it never gave me any problems.

Very nice and the video stimulate my memories. Hino used to be the most common truck in Hong Kong. This FS cab is actually exist in mid-80s Japan local and really innovative to have cab suspension at that time. My dad even changed the cab of Hino K series to FS cab for better comfort.
