How good does that rotary Norton sound? It makes such a gorgeous noise. Looks superb in JPS Livery too

They certainly did, looked as fast as it went.

Reynolds rode that Zxr hard and pushed Rymer more than most other riders I've seen. The rotary couldnt quite stretch its legs at Oulton really and it wasn't quite the bike it became 18 months later.

John was a class rider coming through from classic bike racing to superbikes. Norton was great at Snetterton with the long straight like you say Oulton didn't quite have the flat straights to open the Norton up.

So what year did they bring in the blue flags for Marshalls to let let back markers know there's faster riders/race leaders coming through..??

Personally I never got to visit Oulten park but was at Malory, Cadwell and Donnington park this season and every season till the end of the factory Nortons. Me my mam and my Dad and some of his mates all rocking the black, silver and gold JPS gear. I think I saw one rd with the Crighton Norton maybe two. I can't remember. That outfit didn't last long. The very last race I went to was the last rd of the BSB 99 where Troy Bayliss won it over Chris 'The Stalker' Walker and John Renyolds. Just watched that on here. The bike races are better to watch on here but track days were a great place to grow up. I was lucky enough to live within driving distance of Donnington so used to get to go and see all sorts of racing there. Cars, trucks and bikes. I loved it.

Same as yourself never been across to Oulton to watch, perhaps next year or two. Loved watching Norton at Snetterton just in a different race on the long straight. We lucky enough that itv anglia covered some of the national races there so could catch up on action from track a few weeks later on tv.
