Man, that engine = the sound of my childhood. Reminds me of when I was a youngin' in the 80s and 90s, and I used to ride with my momma on the Rough, Tough & Dangerous

Just like NYC MTA's 1982 GMC RTS Remanufactured 7000s.

This really makes me wish the MTA held some of the rebuilt RTS-04s as proper museum buses (7004 for being the oddball to get a Series 50, one of the other rebuilds for this). Then again, those buses first hit the streets more than 10 years before I'd even been a thought...

6v 92 Detroit diesel-powered engines with the v731 Allison automatic transmission that's the best and only combination ever for those who don't know tmc means transportation manufacturing corporation they take over the rts for those who don't know rts meant rapid transit series from 1987-93 after GMC started it first in 1974 as a prototype and then they went in production in 1977-87 from T8J206 to the T80206 and then nova took over in 1993 and buyout the tmc bus company then the nova made the same buses as the T80206 they came with the Cummins diesel or caterpillar diesel engines and the dd series 50 engine with a b500 Allison automatic transmission because both GMC &TMC both came with the 6v 71 and 92 Detroit diesels with the v730 or v731 Allisonautomatic transmissions

Sound like the engine used in the GMC RTS II buses from 1977-1980. Except the propane and CNG models .
