Let's ignore that rolling start from Bowe haha. But he just took off. It was walking wounded in the end.

John Bowe taking full advantage of the little known "rolling start" rule.

Give me Aussie V8 racing from the 90's every time. Everything's run by wet-wipes and gluten-free personality vacuums now.

LOVE V8 supercars of this era AWESOME! Poor old Dick Johnson too much wheelspin off the line.

Yeah he needs to save the burnouts for his victory lap. He's got too much experience for rookie mistakes like that.

20:28 The what of the car?

It’s easy to confuse nostalgia with facts. The fact is, we all love these old races because the field was diverse. Time paints the past with gold, but it was the diversity that made it fun to watch back then. Now it’s a 2-chassis formula, owned by an investment group.. accountants in fancy shoes taking selfies in the hospitality tent.🥱👎🏼 I switched to WEC. They had Toyota and a privateer in the top class; Porsche, Ferrari & Corvette in the other. So they rebuilt it from the ground up. Now they’re turning marques away for ‘24.😄 Here’s next year’s field: (Factory) Hypercar: Porsche Ferrari Toyota Cadillac BMW Lamborghini Peugeot Alpine Isotta (Hypercar is run what you brung, you just have to hit windows for weight, power and a downforce/drag of 4:1. ANY engine, turbo, supercharger, hybrid/non combo allowed.) (Customer) GT3: Ferrari Lamborghini BMW Porsche Mustang Lexus McLaren Corvette Aston An Audi, a Honda NSX and even a Bentley miss out due to pit/fueling at Imola & Austin requiring a cap of 37, which they aim to grow asap. There’s also hydrogen prototype Hypercars slated for Le Mans in 2027. If you don’t like electric battery cars, this is where future performance engine tech will come from. Basically, we’re here for its genesis. Oh, and you can watch it live or later on Stan. 10/10 highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I became a lot more interested in the Touring Car Masters years ago.

@@quasiesports Yeah that seems to have disappeared, everyone l spoke to preferred it to Supercars so l think it’s been quietly removed. Lots of manufacturers were invited to Supercars when they were planning Gen 3. When told they would have to use a proprietary chassis and engine, and simply stick plastic panels on them to make them look like their actual cars, all but two laughed and walked away. GM and Ford run NASCARs so they agreed. That’s why we essentially have a two-car NASCAR field as our supposed national motorsport.
