That's the same car Robert DeNiro was driving in HEAT when Al Pacino pulled him over on the highway before they had coffee together. Al was driving a 1993 Infiniti J30.

My mom leased this same STS in 93. Ours was a dark green that looked black at night with tan leather. It was an amazing car. Once the lease was up she had a new one about every 3 years in the 90’s but this first one was always our favorite. Thanks for sharing.

I fell in love with the 1992 Sevilles when they first came out. The Northstar engine in ‘93 just made them damn near perfect. GM made such a serious effort to get this generation of the STS clean looking, comfortable, and powerful. At the time, I was the Public Relations Manager for GM of Canada. I ordered the demo vehicles for the press fleet. Polo green with tan leather? You bet!

One of the best if not the best car I’ve ever owned! I was always amazed at the power from a stop…thrilling! Owned it 4 years and I should have never sold it!

👍Beauty! Solid comfort & powerful. I Had a 99 STS. Hated to sell it but it mostly sat in garage. 66k on it when sold. No issues w/ the North Star V8 either. The leather was phenomenal as was the BOSE stereo system. 👍

That is NICE! That car is perfect for any Cadillac collector or enthusiast like myself. Glad to know this sold and hopefully to the right person to appreciate it. My parents bought a 1995 Seville SLS just a few years old back in the late 90s so I know these cars and grew up with at least one in the family. I have a 1993 Allante that I drive pretty much everyday and I love every time I get in and start driving.

Can the Cadillac seville 1993 reach over 25mpg on Open Roads If yes how high IS the MPG of cadillic seville 1993 on Open Roads and how far does IT Drive with one fuel Tank?.

I am not sure on that, my memory was that while I owned it, I was getting 17 to 19 miles per gallon. But I drove it rather hard so had I been using it more gently, it may have gotten better. Thanks for your question!

This car back in the day competed well with the BMW 5 series and E Class Benz. Nowadays a 5 series of E class Benz is fetching very high dollars but the Cadillac isn’t and I’m talking in comparison of similar vintage

Beautiful. Keep it clean, flush that cooling system every year and the northstar should run for 50,000 extra miles without having to replace head gaskets

Great advice! I never had any issues with that beautiful Caddy! I have sold it but hopefully the new owner will follow your advice!

9k is a pretty steep price for an active time bomb.... the North Star head gaskets... it’s not if but when they will blow due to a bad head bolt design. Ask any mechanic. Junk yards are littered with these north star STS’s for this very reason. The cost to replace is more than the car is worth.
@jakeabernathy15373 жыл бұрын
Very INACCURATE statement from you. No even so, if you want to call this car a ticking time bomb then so is every other car out there! Junkyards were also littered with every other older cadillac from before. Now you see the newer Northstar cadillac's because that is the age they are included with every other car that is 25 years old now.
@tonyo64663 жыл бұрын
@@jakeabernathy1537 any mechanic knows the facts about the bad head bolt design on the early north stars. KZbin is filled with videos on them. Look up the Car Wizard on KZbin who discussed this engine in great detail. Not inaccurate in the slightest. Fact is that anyone willing to risk buying an early North Star can pick up an STS for a lot less than 9k. Anyone who’s smart would be better off buying a Lexus LS 400 of the same year. Those engines will run 300,000+ with standard maintenance and no worries about head gaskets.
@jakeabernathy15373 жыл бұрын
@@tonyo6466 And fact of the matter anybody who would to spend $9k on a 300,000 mile Lexus over a like new STS is rediculous. I've had one of those cars and its no different than a cadillac. Its another car that gets expensive on repairs and hard to getting parts for as old as they are getting.
@tonyo64663 жыл бұрын
@@jakeabernathy1537 never said I’d spend 9k for a 300k mile Lexus. I wouldn’t spend 9k for a 93 low mileage STS knowing that around the corner is an expensive head gasket replacement. Not a question of if but when. I’d certainly buy a 93 LS 400 with the same miles as that caddy OVER that caddy in a heart beat but that’s a no brainer which goes to show how superior the LS and it’s over engineered V8 is to the caddy north star
@jakeabernathy15373 жыл бұрын
@@tonyo6466 Good then go and enjoy your over engineered Lexus! That car was no different in repair costs than a caddy, and my caddy had been much better than the Ls430 I had!

As a Japanese and European efficiency car lover, I think this car looks awesome. Very futuristic for its time. Aged very well. Beautiful design. Just think that an underpowered V8 is a bit too much. A decent 2.2 straight6 or V6 woulda been fine
@E34Benzin Жыл бұрын
It isn't underpowered with 305hp and 400Nm. The essence of that car is the big and powerful V8 under the long hood, which gives it a very comfortable driving feel, plus the sound of a V8 is unmatched by a 6 cylinder. The Northstar is also one of the most efficient V8s from its time. Anyway, if you want a big American car with a 6 cylinder engine the Buick Park Avenue from the same time period is a good alternative, specially the Ultra with the supercharger. The 3.8 V6 is also a great engine and sounds kinda like an 8 because of the firing order. Both are great cars and they were both sold in Europe, but sadly in very low numbers.
@E34Benzin Жыл бұрын
As far as the design goes, I totally agree. It's one of the most beautiful sedans from the 90s.

Tony-O is correct but also VERY rude. The 93 - 2000 is in the years with the most NorthStar troubles. Head gaskets will blow and cannot be fixed without dropping the engine. Not every Northstar had this problem and it usually occurred between 50-75k miles. Newer Northstars also had trouble with head bolts, water pumps, etc. RWD models had much fewer Northstar issues.

Always monitor the temperature gauge on those NorthStar Caddy’s. Never let it red-line overheat. Fine threaded head bolts on a soft aluminum block should’ve gotten an engineer fired, for his/her deliberate, or poor choice of design!!!! If It does blow a head gasket, get it some Time-Sert threaded inserts for the block, and have the cylinder heads studded to it, and that NorthStar should be repaired indefinitely.
