Normally, when imported as a 25 year old vehicle, they should be road legal in 48 states (CA and HI have their own emission standards which preveils over federal laws)... But, some states like NC (which will allow the registration of keivans but not truck for no good reason whatsoever), think they know better and can't make a difference between a truck imported as farm-offroad only vehicle (HS7 form box #7) and a truck, like this one, imported as a 25 year old collectible vehicle (HS7 form box #1). So they refuse registration of them considering them to all be for offroad use only... Just to be very clear, they are wrong. But, to prove them wrong, like with everything in the US, someone would have to sue them in court, which costs money and time and therefore nobody really ever did it... If I were to still live in the states and in a state with such a bad understanding of what import laws are in the country, I would definetely try to challenge them in court, but sadly, I'm not :(

​@@johnclark499 They will refuse your registration in NC... Nothing much you can do other than knowing your shit and be ready to fight it in court. You can register it in VA instead though as you don't need a VA address to register a car there.
