Try to get a before facelift model, built before '97. They don't rust as quickly as the newer ones and they look nicer

This was my first car. C230 Kompressor from 2000. Got an ECU tune for it and bumped the HP up from 187 (originally 193) to 220 HP. These cars are highly over looked and are total sleepers. It’s a bummer they’re seen as old peoples cars these days.

I have a c200 w202 and totally reconditioned it mechanically new ATF and conductor plate, filter.. New brake pipes both sides front to rear, full A and B service, new tyres all round, air con service and new oil and gas, changed the interior from beige mushroom to sports check, replaced fuel filter and rubber o ring on the sender unit on fuel tank.. Changed bulbs as required, drive belt, spark plugs x 4, oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, coolant, brake fluid, got rid of the alloys and put ot back on 185/65 x 15" steel wheels with genuine merc hub caps.. Totally stock in Alexander green metallic.. Top car.

95 C180 I’m whipping has 585 500km on it. It’s been in the family since new. Not quick but that’s fine with me, i just get more time on the road to savour the drive but it can make decent pace once it gets going. Aiming to restore to mint condition then doing another 500 000km. Personally, my favourite mass produced automobile. Future classic and already a collectible.

The one thing I am jealous of, regarding this car, is that the european domestic market W202's got a few awesome options and toys that we in the states never got, like Parktronic, or the Auto Pilot System (a form of navigation), power folding mirrors, or the power rear window sun shade.

My question: why was the C230Kompressor (W202) plagued with airflow meter problems? I noticed this on many of the grey imports of used units. Of course I don't know the usage history of those units with the problem (it could be lack of maintenance or that the cars with the problem experienced it because they were imported from temperate climates where they were optimised, to tropical climates where the airflow sensors have a hard time working properly/coping. I had no idea that 4 models of air conditioning were available for this car.

hey guys i have a problem with my C180 1995 122HP. everything was fine but suddenly started to lose gas when i drive. i drive normaly through the city 50km/h and then car loses gas. i push the pedal but engine does not recieve fuel. when i start the car i hear fuel pump working normaly. so as i said i drive and then there is no fuel. after some time it gets fuel again and drives normaly. its a problem on highway when i want to overtake some truck and i lose power and i fall behind the truck again. i talked to few mechanics but no one knows what to do. MB service says car is old and dont even want to help. i love this car. i bought volvo V40 2015 but it cant beat that old MB. someone please help me or i will have to get rid of this car. i prefer losing my balls than this amazing car

0:35 This passenger side airbag destroys windshield nicely when deployed. Happened to me when my -94 C220 automatic had something broke down between engine and differential, car started shaking so bad it shot both airbags at 100km/h, luckily it was so early in the morning i didn't crash anybody due to lost visibility. but others than that, it's a good car on the road. but the basemodel 180 is a bit boring.
