May 5, 1993: The Charlotte Hornets had recently put together their first winning season and led the Boston Celtics two games to one in the first round. After an enormous comeback by Boston, rookie Alonzo Mourning hit the game winner with 0.4 seconds remaining to win Charlotte its first ever playoff series.

The Hornets could have contended with Chicago, New York, Indiana, and later Orlando but it all went downhill because Mourning and Johnson could not get along. And every NBA fan knows how much Mourning and Johnson disliked each other (1998)
