A good draw shot player will beat a good driver any day ? A often repeated & confusing statement, Why ? Maybe if the driver only drives with every bowl in every end of the match. Rob Parrella plays with accuracy using both the draw shot & drive shot along with many delicately weighted shots in beetwen. I admire him also for playing social bowls ( to win ) not often that He gets beat ( most star players dont play social bowls ) but Rob plays social bowls & promotes the Sport of Lawn Bowls with a Passion. The game of lawn bowls has benefited greatly from having Rob Parrella transfer his sportng prowess & intrest from Bocce ( Australian Champion ) to lawn bowls. I learned a lot about the sport of lawn bowls when I was young just from watching Rob play.
