That's a 2006 12BT. Yes they did stop the 12 on the AUTOMOTIVE line in 98 but you could get a 12BTM being the marine specced motor after 98 it just had to be a industrial application or marine. Dallas Cowboys stadium in Arlington is powered by Cummins generators. Also Ingersol Rand made air compressors and generators you can still buy with the 12BTI in them.

I noticed that the cummins data plate in your boat was painted over. Where did you find the serial number to figure out it was a 2006? Thanks

That looked like a 90's 12 valve to me, but I'm guessing marine diesels look different than normal "land" diesels.

if it was an 06 it would have electronic injection that has a mechanical injection

it is Recon done in 2006 but not engine year make sure you clear that other way you make you self look like you don’t know what r you talking about

Cummins are bad ass engines but $145,000... thats expensive (you culd buy a house) it whod be cheaper to buy a 98 - 03 dodge ram diesel take out the engine and there's your Cummins (but you whod have to buy a engine management sistem and a laptop) simple (:
