Made in May, 1993. Almost 30 years later and still sparks. Here’s to another 30.

This zippo lighter is not the original release of 1993, if you look at the shape of the bottom of this lighter it is flat and round at each corner, the original zippo lighter released in 1993 is sunken at the bottom of the zippo lighter and round at each corner, if you want to know, every few years zippo will change the design and every feature of the zippo lighter and will be stamped with the year it was released, zippo fans will always know if it is original or fake

I found a Zippo lighter that was underground for 48 years that belonged to a Vietnam vet and it never looked that bad and I found many more that have never looked that bad

Are you kidding me ? Did some poor guy just lose it drunk on a beach one night and years later someone found it with a metal detector ? How could it get that rusty holy ! You brought it back to its self again and made it happy !
@roborovsky6950 Жыл бұрын
Probably the same poor guy that is restoring it. Lost it a few weeks back in salty water and then added some mud for the artistic effect.
@lukepippin47812 жыл бұрын
I’m amused by the comments asking about how you made it look like it started off in such bad shape. People think all these guys restoring lighters are just making stuff up. Lot of stuff like this gets found by people metal detecting. Not sure why it’s so hard for people to believe that a lighter can get dropped and be found years later.

Maybe because you can't do miracles out of a fake rusted lighter. How would the lettering be perfectly intact underneath, no way.

Can you show the video of how you made the new lighter dirty. That would be more interesting and honest.

What's that green block you used to remove the plating? My own Zippo isn't rusty/covered in gunk like this but I've got missing parts in the chrome finish and would like to strip it off. I might/might not add a new finish (I like the unfinished look) but I'm curious what that was!
