Shifting like a BOSS John! Nothing beats hearing a vette shifted like that in person! 2500 rpm and drop clutch! He obviously is not the mechanic, he's the mechanical engineer!

Going to 255 up front and 285 in the rear in 1992 was a smart tech move, but in reality just made tires a lot more expensive for a very minor handling balance gain. Couldn't rotate tires at all, not even front to rear, and when you lift the hood the tires looked smaller. I fixed this problem on my 93 by going with 91 wheels. 275 looks better with hood open and they're half the price all around than the odd ball 255 and 285 17 inch.

@Rathbone35

People forget the tires on the C4 were directional, so you couldn't swap them left to right, and the rear were larger than the front, so you couldn't swap the front to rear. I remember my Dad thought it was ridiculous that you couldn't rotate the tires. Only 10 or 15 years earlier people still had bias ply tires and had to rotate them a lot. Also, the C4 wasn't fiberglass - it was SMC (sheet molded compound) which was lighter and stronger. This meant the old repair methods would no longer apply. My Dad did body work for a dealership and I remember him complaining that paint wouldn't stick to the car! Ha ha

Couple years later the OHV Corvettes had more power than these DOHC clunkers... Sign at 1:02:45 is wrong... and he is wrong at 1:04:40... although 1970 370 HP LT1 was in the sales literature, none were installed, instead the 360 HP with more tractable camshaft was used... Also, 1967 L88 427" wasn't really only '430' HP...

Each tohis own said the farmer as he kissed the cow. DOHC engines are capable of higher rev limits as they don't have pushrods that bend and valves that float at high RPMs

I like a tight seat belt in my 98, so i latch the seat belt and drive the rocking seat all the way forward...that's only when the seat control box under the seat works...when it doesn't i just flop forward and back in the loose rocking seat when i hit the brakes and watch my passenger do the same! (Funny that the C4 base seats were so much better and stronger than the C5 flimsy sport seats.) A common misconception is that 20 year old ABS will stop the car faster than a 20 year old non-ABS brake system. Remember to spot the road ahead and keep your head focused ahead at each rotation of the spin so that when your car finally stops spinning on a wet interstate you won't be dizzy. That's in the Directors Cut of this video. Love my C4 and C5 :-)
