Another rare gem of the 90s arcade scene. I'd guess I probably saw 40-60 different arcades growing up as a kid vacationing all over the US to different theme parks each year, and I probably only saw this game once or twice. But like Cadash (which I also only saw 1-2 times) it was very memorable despite the rarity since fantasy/RPG style hack and slash games were my favorite and this was something new I hadn't really played before. I do think it's not quite as good as D&D (Tower/Mystara) due to the iso perspective being a bit weird, and apparently it has painful slowdown in 4-player, but I still had a ton of fun with it the few times I played it.

this game, the punisher, Wizard Fire (1992), dungeons and dragons arcade and x-men arcade game would make a great beat em up arcade collection..

Wow. I played Cadash, Dark Seal, King of Dragons and the Dungeons and Dragons games but I never even SAW this in the arcades. Did it ever come to the U.S.?

Yes, as Dungeon Magic. Not to be confused with Taito's NES game of the same name.

My guess it's an "easter egg" for the Japanese arcade version.
Ya game wasn't made to support 4 players, runs terribly. 2players seemed to run well, maybe 3 players might be the limit.

Nope there's a slowdown because of too many sprites on screen.

Taito, like Data East, loved being experimental with their games, sometimes the ideas worked, sometimes they didn't. But when they did, the games turned out great, but sometimes were a little too ambitious for the hardware they run on (Data East would do that too). Taito went the extra mile with this one, the F3 hardware may not have been strong enough for a game with so much moving around onscreen, and Taito's F3 games usually didn't have any issues running games (look at Arabian Magic, and the amount of sprites onscreen at a time, tons of enemies, no slowdown, but smaller sprites). Sprites in this game on the other hand, pretty big.
