but seriously though, why do parents feel the need to dictate if their child is too old for something??? I absolutely hate when parents decide to force their kids into maturity. literally just let them enjoy their childhood while they still have one. it’s not their fault that there might be underlying issues with yours, but NEVER take it out on them. forcing your kids to act mature will only mess them up when they actually do get older. It’s really so much easier to let them have a childhood and let them develop at their own pace. It’s not up to the parent’s discretion to decide the age in which their kid is “too old for toys.” you wouldn’t take a toy away from a happy toddler and say “this is for babies. you’re too old for it.” would you? take it from me; I’m 20 and still sleep with stuffed animals and have been told so many times “aren’t you too old for that?” why should it really matter if it makes me happy? obviously this hits personally which is why it triggered an essay of a comment but I really needed to vent ab it lol
