No Ed or Nala?? That is a crime. Ed is legit the only Hyena I really remember from the movie. I've never been a big Disney musical cartoon fan, but this one (and Robin Hood) were exceptions. My Grandparents took me to see it as a kid and I LOVED it. I remember I even bought the sheet music for violin with my allowance. I never really knew or thought about the toys, though I probably would have liked these quite a bit. I miss simple, high-quality toys like this.

I would expect Ed to be the most popular of the Hyenas because he was funny. He's the one that sticks out in my mind too! Now that you mention sheet music, I remember I had the piano sheet music for the Lion King! My mom got it for me to bribe me into practicing more. xD

Mattel should have made a action figure Ed, Simba's Mom, Young Nala, and Adult Nala, Mattel also should have made the Elephant Graveyard Playset that would have been Awesome then you can have a playset for Scar's and his Hyena clan which is the Elephant Graveyard and Pride Rock for Simba's Pride

They actually did make an ed toy, he was only sold at Disney world(as far as I know). And the toy company “just play” made a lion king nala figure both adult and cub, but they are only sold in a figure pack

I have a special attachment to the Rafiki figure I remember being a little kid and losing the stick and that made me very sad, my dad made a new stick out of his leather shoe string and some beans. I really love that about my dad just that he would take the time to meticulously drill holes into the beans so they could hang off of the stick.

It was mattel, (same people that made these.) but was in a set called roaring kings which had 4 figures, simba scar shenzi and the very rare ed figure. The set was only sold in disney world and wasn’t released anywhere else so they are very rare and worth quite alot and the simba and scar figures are very rare too and they make sounds i think

These were among my favorite toys. I remember playing with them before the movie came out and then being surprised when I saw the movie that the characters were not as I imagined them. For example, I thought Zazu was going to be a villain because his toy was packaged with one of the hyenas.

These are exactly the toys I used to have when I was a kid. I used to have Adult Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. I don't have them anymore though. I put Adult Simba and Timon in a donation box for orphans years ago when I was a teenager. I remember Pumbaa got left behind because my younger brother won't let go of him. These are good quality toys, I remember I used to throw them around when I was a kid and they won't even break.

The no Nala gets me. She was a pretty important character. I had to settle for buying a non articulated unknown brand of lioness that was a bit too big in scale. Mattel did make a little plastic figure of cub Nala, but she's much smaller than the action figure Simba.

I have the same problem with the three named hyenas, i have a figurine of Shenzi, and a figurine of Bonzai, but Ed did not come with them, i have a figurine of all three of them attached to a stand, but why would they not just make a figurine of Ed too, instead of making a figurine with all three of them, also if you wan't a video idea, you should make a video with the lion king burger king toy line, it is really annoying you have to buy the burger king toys to get 1 Ed though, also most lion king sets of this toy line I've seen have lost Rafiki's stick, and Rafiki's action feature is basically pointless without the stick, but the stick is easy to lose, since it can just pop in and out of the hand. Also another issue, most sets from back then didn't have any lioness, mostly because of stereotypes, they thought boys would only play with action figurines, and that girls wouldn't wanna play with them, they didn't think boys would wanna use the lioness either, so they just didn't put any lioness in there, anyways, great video! Hoping to see more lion king related videos!

Someone else mentioned that Ed was actually made, but I appreciate you letting me know too that he exists. I wish I could have tracked him down back then! I can't believe that Mattel didn't make a cub Nala action figure. They could have just reused Simba's body and got by with just sculpting a new Nala head for it.
