The year nitrous entered P/S. Corruption ruined P/S. The man and car that should have won according to the rules. Was shut out because of cheaters. NHRA did not talk about it. They finally kicked some of them out for life. And they kick others in the teeth for doing it. Some were punished behind closed doors. And those people were never revealed. There were many who abused the rules. Pro Stock is one class that should not be using N/O.

I think Warren Johnson was behind the destruction done to the Dodge Boys shop during the off season of 1994 using Sledge Hammers to bust up the engines to keep them out of racing for awhile

That's the dumbest story ever told. The Dodge boys were using Nitrous Oxide to get their wins and they destroyed their own motors to avoid the scrutiny and inspections that were imminent. It ended their competitiveness for years. They knew they couldn't win without the spray, so couldn't just build more identical motors for the next season. Essentially NO DODGES we fast for at least a decade because the motor design couldn't hold a candle to the OLDS/PONTIAC based GM motors. Even the Fords of the Glidden family were caught running Nitrous when they had an accident (explosion) in the pits while servicing the car.

@@windycityjohn400 It was Eckman whos bottle exploded in the pits. Bob Glidden did not get caught with nitrous. He retired because of all the cheating that he did not want to participate in.

I literally just talked to one of Scott’s closest friends here in NJ and he told me that Scott told him they were using nitrous. Scott told him they hide it in a fake battery and it ran a line up to the scoop and they fog the motor with nitrous.

​@@PeteHahn94that's right, and Daryl Allman got caught with dope, 1 Doper and two cheaters. They should have gave Warren Johnson those championships they cheated on. They were also running Chevrolet crankshafts in those Motors.

@@sherwinstaudt1881 I was a big dodge boys fan but it was pretty clear after the shop got wrecked and they couldn’t really compete anymore they must of been cheating.

He called it the bow tie mopar's because the Wayne county speed shop made heads that were very similar to a Chevy's that way the motor could breathe much better. When the NHRA told Mopar the only motor they could use was the hemi was the defeat of Mopar. They were using the 440 style block that made them much faster due to the fact that the 440 over the years was a much faster car than the hemi basically due to the fact it was a of as a higher winding motor something had to do with something like that that's why a lot of the drag racers kept the 413 and the 440 because they breathed so good because they were designed for high revving engines not the hemi

Kinda funny right before NHRA was going to do a inspection they were broke into and "lost" the engine specs.
