I’ve often thought we’ve got it all wrong in this country , we have our championship races at the end of a long season when most have already gone to the well many times AND a great chance that the ground has changed . The QEII and the Champion stakes are particularly prey to surprise and big outsider winners . I’m still getting over Slip Anchor and Oh So Sharp getting turned over in the champion stakes and that was in the 80’s…. I hold a grudge don’t I ? 😆 👍🤣
