For claiming the USFS was against her and telling her what to do, she was certainly calling the shots on this night🤣

I dont care about circumstances or what happened with her career or personal life, Tonya Harding is a damn LEGEND in figure skating and nobody can deny that....power, grace, showmanship and incredible technique..she should legitimately, in my opinion, have that ban lifted..that judgement was more than a bit heavy handed, suspension for a few years would have been a more justifiable decision...they should have let the courts decide what her ultimate fate should have been....suspending her from competition for, say, 5 years would have been more appropriate than a lifetime ban...yes, I understand the whole "not exuding sportsmanship" line but I believe that the skating authority over exaggerated and wanted to "make an example" of the whole thing...MAYBE they needed to turn the mirror on THEMSELVES and realize exactly what these athletes have to subject themselves to in order to even come CLOSE to competition status...what sacrifices they endure...physically, mentally, emotionally, personally and financially...just to be "good enough" to step on the ice. The real "tragedy" isnt what happened to Kerrigan but what ALL athletes have to do in order to be able to continue to be competitive, Tonya had made a grievous mistake in judgment no doubt....but who doesn't? Teenagers using steroids to succeed, other athletes using "questionable methods" to "gain an advantage"...I'm not justifying Tonya's action, I'm questioning whether or not the punishment actually fit the crime

She always had to reuse her old costumes for exhibitions and during the initial stages of new programs. The ban was definitely too harsh, and I believe that Jeff coerced her to not blow the whistle. I'm not at all saying her actions were right, but I could see why she didn't say anything at first. It was tragic that she was always marked down on artistry just because she didn't fit the mold of having long lines and the elegance

Midori Ito had no trouble doing triple axels in the spotlight during her professional career!

Very true about the great Midori! However, Tonya was not in the professional ranks and had never been in the pros, not even as one of those reinstated skaters. Also, she never had to skate doing triple axels in a professional skating program with spotlights or in a dark arena.

Her skirts were always a tad but to low is my opinion.
