Is it just me, or did games just feel more important back then?? Maybe im just getting old.. Its crazy how fast time flies.. But look at the coaches, the 2 Qb's.. Just Awesome..
@akumawani2 жыл бұрын
no- its not just u. good hard hitting 90s defenses made the game much more intense because yardage was so hard to come by- the possessions were more precious..

A rare standalone noon game. That day, all the other NBC games were at 4:00.

Dolphins-Pats was originally scheduled for 1:00pm. It was moved to 4 after the early season shootout.

Understandable that game got moved, but they should have moved Jets/Colts to 1:00 at least (All the other NBC 4:00 games were in Denver/San Diego/Los Angeles).

It was their marquee game though. Makes sense for me. It's a rematch of the AFC championship game for the previous year. Totally understand making that a national game.

These Chiefs in a way weren't the same Chiefs from the previous year. Gone by '94 were three standbys that were the heart of Kansas City for a decade plus: Nick Lowery, Albert Lewis, and Kevin Ross. When you lose one of the best CB tandems of that era, that contributed to Andre Reed running wild on this day.
@joshuahendricks77015 жыл бұрын
Free Agency ruined the NFL. The Chiefs should have kept Albert Lewis to pair with Dale Carter. Kevin Ross was more of a safety at this point and they could afford to let him go. The failed Derrick Thomas experiment at Defensive end the year before was plain stupid. He should have played his ENTIRE CAREER at ROLB. He would have had many more sacks. That was where he was most successful. The Chiefs should have stayed in the 3-4 and when Lonnie Marts went to Tampa they should have taken Broderick Thomas in return. He would have started at LOLB and lined up alongside his college teammate Neil Smith. That group would have been amazing.

Such a strange end to the run (I know they made playoff appearances in 95 and 96, but not the same) they made. They destroyed the Chiefs here. Swept a good Miami team and beat the Patriots and Packers, both playoff teams. On the flip side, they got swept by the mediocre Colts and the Jets. Those were killer losses that pretty much kept them out of the postseason.

This was after the bye week for the Bills, it really looked like they were about to take off on a second-half run but they didn't have it in them, losing 6 of their last 8 after this. The game did serve to correctly expose the Chiefs as pretenders, however.
@cbod143 жыл бұрын
Seeing as how The Chiefs made the playoffs and The Bills didn't I would hardly call them pretenders
@CaptainTunnel Жыл бұрын
KC definitely were pretenders in 94-95, but they're top dog now. I love the rivalry with Buffalo tbh, see y'all later this season. And possibly, in the playoffs 🍻

Dang the Chiefs lost by a worser spread in 94 to the Bills than they did in the afc championship game the previous year the Chiefs has were for real in 93 even though they came up short of one game of the super bowl man they need a for real chiefs team again around here miss those days

There is a for real Chiefs team. They are defending Super Bowl champs and host Buffalo next week in a rematch of the 1993 AFC championship

In this game the Bills demonstrated why they were the defending AFC champions. Yet if I'm a Bills fan, I actually breathe a sigh of relief when they fail to make the playoffs, because everyone knows what would have happened if they had reached the Super Bowl again. Let someone else get their asses beat for once.
