Im from Italy, I own a 2002 mondel (I am the third owner) , all black with silver yamaha logos, I LOVE HER, superfun to ride, gets me evrywhere. Engines got 90k km, she started to eat way to much oil, she need a good fix, probaly rebuipd the engine. Will never ever sell it eaven if I will have to spend a lot of money. Wish they made dual sport like that again!

Io ne ho comprata una, identica alla tua, poco tempo fa. Tutta nera, del 2002, 70.000 km. Una volta revisionate vanno avanti altri vent'anni. La mia è stata un operazione nostalgia, ne avevo una a cavallo fra anni '80 e ’90 e mi era rimasta nel cuore. Ora sono anziano, ma chi se ne frega.

​@@GrandeCapo_PallaPesantesame here, I am in the us. I had 77 xt500, 1980 xt500, 1983 xt550, 1984 and 1985 xt600, 1990 xt600e, and best of all was around 1993 or 94, made in Italy TTR 600. It's white with the white frame, Olin shock, Brembo brakes, upside down forks They never sold them in the united states, do you know anything about them?

You're from italy? Do you know anything about the italian-made Yamaha TTR 600 Kickstart from the early 1990s, with the Ohlin shock, Brembo brakes and white frame? I have one in the US and would like more information identifying what year it is. It's white with kind of turquoise and blue stickers

That's the acceleration I remember ! I had an 86XT 600 motor in a 87 Honda VT250 frame, it used to be pretty fast too just over 200kmph then ran out of gears. Thanks for the upload it reminded me of just how good that motor bike was, and I want to rebuild it and put it in a Suzuki DR 350 frame from the 90s.

Hello from Greece, I had the notorious xt 550 82 model for 13 years until 2008. Loved that bike (living in the islands for half a year summer). But when I wanted to travel I understood that it's not for 500, 600 klm per day. If I stayed on a small island I would have this bike, easy to maintain and capable off-road. But no Ancona to Milan . 😊

I also had that bike as well as the 500 before it and the 600 after it. The 5:50 actually has a little more low-end torque then the 600. I remember it being kind of a revolutionary bike at the time, 4 valves per cylinder dual Progressive carburetors, worked very well. I put a paddle tire on it and erase a modified Banshee 350 up competition Hill at Dumont sand dune multiple times, and I either beat it or we tied even

Valve adjustment ? Camchain rattle. Had these. Greatallrounders.

sounds extremely rattly, that metallic sound (tin tin tin) would really worry me. Probably needs just a valve adjustment.

That rattle was Exhaust clamp 👍

The rattle noise is the exit baffles on the supertrap exhaust not installed correctly. I have a supertrap exhaust on my 1990 XT600. It sounds solid.
