1995_03_24 AMTK Pioneer Trip CO & WY on BN & UP Denver Sherman Hill

Join me for a trip on Amtrak's Pioneer, a long-distance passenger train. This installment takes us from near Fort Morgan to Denver to Colorado where we watch as the combined Zephyr, Desert Wind, and Pioneer is split apart. We depart Denver on the Pioneer section and head north to Borie Wyoming (near Cheyenne) and over Sherman Hill to Laramie, Green River and Evanston Wyoming. Spoiler alert... As we were leaving Denver we heard on the scanner that our locomotive, AMTK 378, had a coolant leak. Stay tuned for the next installment to fine out how that worked out. Enjoy!
The Pioneer was discontinued in 1997.

Thank you for letting us see what 1995 looked like. I live in Cheyenne and after seeing the poor train station that served Amtrac, I wish they would use the original Train Station in Cheyenne. Thanks again.

Amazing. Note: Nearly none of the boxcars or tanker cars had graffiti. A different time not that long ago.
