I think the Sunburst ES-135 looks really nice too. I've seen couple in Wine Red too and those were pretty nice looking too. I think the entire ES-135 released pretty nice finishes throughout. One of Gibson's most underrated guitar lines to me. - Nice Review Brother

You sound good. The 135 is the most hollow of their Semi-hollows. It has a balsa wood center block, a very porous and lightweight material. It's not strong enough to support the studs for a stopbar tailpiece, hence the more old-fashioned trapeze. This changes the load physics: strings are pushing in against tho top, not pulling out. Also this light center block stops short of the neck pickup, so it's fully hollow under there, giving that 175ish feel. The P-100s are stacked humbuckers with a quiet 2nd coil underneath the sounding upper coil instead of next to it. It mainly cancels unwanted electrical noise, and leaves the upper coil to do all the signal pickup, so they sound very single coil P90ish. Hope you're still enjoying that excellent guitar.

interesting... i didnt know about the balsa wood... thx for letting me kno

@bluegillGreg how is intonation on the trapeze tailpiece

@@mastermachetier5594 It's good. The bridge is a Tune-O-Matic (or something like that). It's not the older style floating rosewood bridge, it's metal with individual adjustment for each string.

Is the video already up in your channel? I'm considering in buying one. I'm between buying a gibson studio or a es135, any thoughts?
@everysingleguitars4 жыл бұрын
Both are quality Gibson’s .... but I’d say Studio bc it’s way more versatile guitar overall ... ES-135 has a great clean / jazz type guitar tho imo ... probably 1 of best clean channel guitars I’ve owned
@Guto36634 жыл бұрын
@@everysingleguitars the thing is that I'm used to play acoustic guitar with nylon string, I really like the really clean tones. The studio it's more versatile if you want to play with drivers. But I don't think I will use drivers a lot. I really like the woody tone of acoustics tho. But the thing is that the 135 is a used guitar, and the studio is brand new. Here in Brazil gibsons are pretty expensive, so buying a used guitar for that much money (1350 dollars) it's a big commitment. I never bought a used guitar before. The only electric that I have it's a condor strat that I paid almost nothing for it.

Guto3663 then I think for u the es135 is better choice ... bc ur used to acoustic style ... but both Gibson’s are good investments ... u won’t lose ur $$

@@everysingleguitars I was bored one day and Googled 'Gibson P-100' and a lot of guitar player forums came up. First thing many of them do is swap the P-100s for P-90s. I was surprised too that they had such a bad reputation.

I have a '91 or '92 ES 135 in red and it deffinatly holds up compaired to my other ES Gibsons. I think Gibson was trying to revamp one of their old hollowbody/jazzbox models but suited for the then current player with the lownoise P 100 pickups and a somewhat slimmer body. I think later on they went to a tune-o-matic stopbar bridge set up before revamping it into the ES 137 Custom. They switched to humbuckers and just fancied it up with nice inlays and neck binding. Matt of Kings Of Leon used a 137 as his main guitar for years. Compaired to my other ES guitars the 135 feels bigger when you play it, almost to a point where the others feel small and actually comfertable to play as they can be a bit 'bulky' feeling sometimes.
