Yeeeeeeeeeees !!!! Finally you drove our first family Hyundai car !! A gls version silver sedan 1.3 that came to Greece, Evros Didimoteicho back in 6th of December 1995 !!!!! Licence plate was ΟΡΒ 1565 Our car was 86bhp , so I don’t think so there was a 60hp version

I believe the Alpha engine (the 1.3 G4EA somethin' somethin') had a few iterations. The 86 bhp versions were the cherry on top for the series. Still, their SOHC design and relatively high tolerances made them all dependable, low-cost, cheap-to-maintain engines.

In high school I had a 2011 accent hatchback with a 5 speed manual. It's Canadain spec so the 1.6 with 110hp was the only engine option. It wasn't dangerously slow but i struggled to keep up kn the highway. I can't imagine a car with half that horsepower and an automatic 😳

Surely a 60hp engine on a Hyundai Accent felt sluggish, but for many new middle-class people and families in post-communist Poland, the small HP meant the car would have cheaper insurance rate.

If im not mistaken up until now in some countries within the "Old World" continent a.k.a Europe, you can choose and buy small cars that are equipped with non-turbo 1.0L engines, and the same engines are available in 2 different horsepower ratings: 60 hp (the cheapest to insure) and 70-ish hp (the second cheapest to insure).

I own and drive the standard 1996 hatchback version of this car...the engine is a 1.5L...only one in my town

Had one of these, the LCII, "hip-hop red". The hatchback. 1.3, manual. It had electric mirrors, 2 front airbags, but only a 3-spoke wheel. And 5 speeds to row through. By the looks inside, someone is giving this old Korean the love it deserves. Mine had its days numbered, rust and age got to it.. or so I think. I had it sold to a dealer for a bucket of change. Seen it in the govt system as a vehicle still in traffic - never saw it since... Stellar drive, Joe 👌! (Slam it into Drive, commence sailing and flowing)

Tbh, I prefer old cars instead of new ones. I admit the features are incredible but not the structural strength.

I enjoy watching you driving especially manual cars cause I'm a beginner driver and take it as a reference or a lessons and many people I believe like me .

It would be great to do a *POV* of the Hyundai Excel, since it is essentially the predecessor of the Accent and they look very similar except that the Excel is more square than the Accent I 👀
