Even though Curtis Brown appears to have one foot down with the ball at 13:30, he really should have gotten the other in bounds very clearly. Need better body control than that. 94-97 brought the most consistently thrilling Iron Bowls, in my opinion.

He does not have complete control of the ball until that foot comes off the ground and the other one comes down out of bounds.

I agree. But you look at how much room he had to get the other foot down and feel he could've known better where he was on the field.

No sir out of bounds sure he had 1 foot in, but he didn’t have complete control

This was the 2nd Auburn game I ever attended and my first while a student. This and the 97 game were so incredibly loud. I remember everyone in the student section holding their breath on that incompletion at the end. I watched it later on tv when we got home and it was so unbelievably close on whether that back foot was still on the ground….it was so hard to tell with the grainy tv quality of the time. I’ve always wondered what that call would have been today with replay, frame by frame slow mo and HD. Who knows though, hell it still seems like they miss half of them today.

Disagree. He doesn’t have possession with the foot that’s in bounds

I am an AU fan and I think Brown caught it inbounds for what almost certainly would have been the game winning TD. If you pause it, his left foot/toe appears to be touching the ground with full control of the ball. If this happened today, I am pretty sure they overturn it...but we will take it. Regardless, just watching this win or lose, I love the nostalgia of all the old names that maybe aren't famous to most fans but I remember as a football junkie. Fred Beasley, Toddrick Malone, Robert Baker, Patrick Hape, Larry Melton, Dennis Riddle, Dell Mcgee, Michael Proctor, Willie Gosha,Chad Key, Tyrone Goodson, and on and on. Hope those guys are healthy and happy today. I was at AU way back then, but not at this game for some reason. I went to the Ed Scissum game in 1997 though. When he fumbled, the student section erupted like a volcano. Good times.

Lol....like the turds have NEVER gotten calls that shouldn’t have gone their way. Ridiculous to hear them whine about one call. Ha! Officiating has singlehandedly through the years taken Auburn out of several Iron Bowls. Bad calls and repeatedly shady ball spotting. Fact!

The first of several screwings at Jordan Hare after the iron bowl was moved from Legion Field to home and home basis in 1989. As a Bama fan, you can only hope that the ref with the responsibility to make the right call in a game altering situation would get it right, but in the close ones at Jordan Hare, they haven't. Bama has never gotten a favorable call in a situation that would have changed the outcome of the game. In the 2013 pick six, there were opportunities, and the Aubies were the beneficiaries on all occasions. On the 4th and short, where Yeldon was stuffed for no gain, they got it right. Unfortunately for the Bammers, he had gotten the mark by a foot on 3rd down, and the zebras just couldn't bring themselves to spot it anywhere close to his forward progress. On the TD throw from Nick Marshall to Coats, it wasn't that Marshall had crossed the line of scrimmage before he made the throw, the AU left guard was almost as far passed the neutral zone as Coats. The game would have never gotten to a FG attempt at the end with the right calls based on the rules. In the video from 1995, Brown's left foot was clearly out, problem was, only one foot required in college, and the right foot had clearly NOT come up after the ball was secure in his hands. Is this just bad luck, or by design. Who knows. Humans are going to make mistake. Oddly, the calls tend to be in favor of the home team in odd years in the iron bowl.

Yea, and if your kickers, thats plural for kicker had been worth a fuck or some of the fat fucks could have tackled davis, etc. etc. only 1 foot in bounds in college, but if the first foot down touches the white line(back foot was up, when football was CAUGHT, not about to be caught) then its out of bounds, just like it was called, even the commentators said they made right call after looking at it several times, but i guess they are Auburn fans also? Stop fucking crying, and accept the fact, YOU LOST!!!! WDE😎

Bama got screwed. WRs foot was in bounds at the end of the game. The Birmingham News had a huge picture of it on their front page the next day. Bama won on the field.

A ball touching a players fingertips (if at all) does not constitute possession. He does not have possession until the other foot comes down out of bounds.

Touchdown Brown, this was so overlooked back in '95. Remember turning to my dad after this and saying "Dad, that was a TD" Why no replay of it. Auburn usually gets its way though! Especially at home.

Go back and look at the fucking replay. The first foot down when the catch was made, was on the white line! Even the commentators said the call was correct!! Stop fucking crying, 24 years later 😆
