I believe before the 1996 Bathurst 1000 the Commodore had a parity adjustment and it's front undertray got trimmed and that reduced downforce that's why Larry Perkins is running a VP Commodore which was unaffected, Larry love's the rule books lol

Seton was brainwashed by his doddering old fool and ford tragic father bo to keep driving ford shit. If he’d gone to holden with Perkins or hrt he would’ve EASILY won a few Bathursts but his dad would’ve lost his mind. Fairly typical of ford lovers. Look at Moffat, flogged dead horses for years after his staged one two in which Colin bond was told to slow down and let the BOSS win, and then ford ditched him. But even after being given a hand of friendship buy his arch enemy brock and going on to win the Nissan Mobil 500 in New Zealand in the Mobil vk he’s still a ford clown who thinks they were a wonderful car.

I love it when all these newbies to V8’s are like “ Craig Who?” whenever anyone compares to McGlaughlin to Lowndes. Lowndes was so fucking good in 96, yes I’ve been following since long before them. Craig has won his 7 being the lead driver, Jim Richards has amongst his 7, co driver wins. Brock has among his 9, wins where he comandered the number 2 car...Craig Lowndes is the real King of the mountain for me
@colinstewart14322 жыл бұрын
It's a good point and often overlooked.
@obiemichaels96752 жыл бұрын
Absolutely, when lowndes came along it was a massive impact to win all 3 the way he did as a rookie and to top it off HRT didn't have to cheat to win unlike another team

Why are the commodore's running chev engines & not Holden engines?
@kennymiesta5134 жыл бұрын
This actually came up in the V8Sleuth Podcast recently, so I can actually answer it. When they went away from Group A and went to 5.0L Touring Cars, Ford didn't have a locally sourced V8 powerplant, or at least one that had the capability of being a race engine, so they were allowed to source parts and engines through the Ford America division. Due to this, it was made legal for Holden to do the same through GM.
@Steveaustin0072 жыл бұрын
The Fords ran their SVO heads and therefore the Holden’s ran SVO heads on the Chevrolet engine otherwise the Fords would have a HP advantage.

@distantcoff73913 жыл бұрын
@Andrew Overton you are talking shit. Allan's commentary is first person account of exactly what is happening. Larko is the only one who comes close to that high quality commentary. You know who you remind me of ❓rolf harris
@13overton3 жыл бұрын
@@distantcoff7391 no denying Moffat’s passion. The difference between Moffat and Larko is Larko can actually articulate a sentence without tripping over his words. As for the Rolf Harris comment I think you really should step out of the dark low place you are in and focus on being a better human being. There’s enough social hate already.
