Agreed. When Bobbie asked what he'd found out, he should have just told her nothing, then later told her the research he had been doing. Then later I think she should have either made Carly leave town, or maybe have her killed for how she treated Bobbie. Though if she'd left town, given the way she's so manipulative, she probably would have found a way back and hurt Bobbie again.

I can (sort of) understand the lie (not that it's right), but Bobbie was already caught by surprise about the affair. Imagine how she would've felt at that same moment that it was her daughter with her husband. Not saying it was right... but I understand why Luke didn't have the heart to tell her. What I hated was that he threw Virginia under the bus to make it believable.

I hate Luke for this. A death would be far more crushing than your husband's affair with your daughter. She should've known he was lying because Virginia would've told her about a grave, if Caroline was dead.

What Luke did was needless and cruel. He should've told the truth. Tony and Bobbie could've eventually survived all this knowing that it was revenge on Carly's part.

Luke never should have lied to Bobbie about Carly (Caroline) being dead. He should have told Bobbie the truth. Absolutely no excuse for Luke to lie about Carly being her daughter. The truth always comes out sooner or later. I also don't like the way Luke treated Laura about her first born son Nikolas. Luke had no right to treat Laura that way after all he fathered Ethan with Holly. So, how is that any different than Laura being taken captive then be lied to about Luke being dead. Luke is a hypocrite who turned into a drunk constantly taking off leaving his family. This is not the Luke who once loved Laura, his family, & would never hurt them or leave them. Boy the writers sure went south after the 80's.

I'm conflicted here. Which is worse? To find out ur daughter is dead that u gave up for adoption or find out ur daughter was in bed with ur husband in theory " her step father " I was gonna say luke should have just said " no luck finding ur daughter " but I think this event may have made bobbi find caroline even more. She would have probably gone to Virginia & Virginia would have said " didnt luke tell u she is in port Charles oh & I have a recent photo let me send a copy of her in the yearbook. " i think Bobbie would have had a heart attack if luke said " oh yea that tart in bed with tony is ur daughter. Guess she is a nutcase that came back for revenge for u giving her up. I think he wanted to let bobbi go on thinking her daughter was not out to wreck her life. Too bad bc once tony found out he would have dumped carly bc it's too obvious she did this on purpose it's no coincidence her daughter by accident wound up in their lives. Also means she lied about her whole identity. Wow luke was quick on his feet saying virginia was insane. Carly lies like luke lol. He had a ton of lies quick to cover for virginia saying she just talked to caroline.

AGreed about most of what you said. And I think I would never have forgiven Carly for the way she treated Bobbie. Man, can she yell! But I think Luke should have just said he hadn't found out anything about her daughter yet, to buy him some time to decide how to best deal with Bobbie finding Carly and Tony together.
