Nice video!! I had a 1996 suburban with the 5.7 vortec V8 and it sure was a beast of a motor!

honda actually developed the high swirl combustion chamber , from what i have read . way back in the mid 1970'S . their " CVCC" ( compound vortex combustion chamber ) . it was the optional engine on the civic i know , and maybe the accord as well . the CVCC was 100 C.C.'S smaller in displacement than the standard civic engine , if i remember right . and the 22R that toyota brought out for the 1981 model pickups , celica , and corona had a heart-shaped high swirl chamber . they changed it from the semi-hemispherical chamber that the 20R engine had . a hemispherical chamber burns more efficiently but a high swirl chamber is better for emission control from what i understand

Bought my 97 k1500 short bed new. Has 223,000 miles. Has some rust and normal wear. Still runs strong and looks better than the newest Chevys. I just purchased a used Sierra extended cab a few years ago, a 2016. Nice truck but I still can't let go of the 97 Chevy.

Well years later my 1998 c1500 5.0 has 411,000 on it and a new 4l60e at 290.000 and a alternator. Engine still runs amazing with just basic oil changes just started using synthetic oil 👍

A little more time spent on intake gasket coolant sealing would have made it legendary. Instead, they leaked coolant internally and externally, and became known for cracked cylinder heads
