This is crazy. I’m about to take care of the guides and 1&5 today on my 97 s420. Not many people have these cars and I find them super easy to work on. Thank you for your videos. They are super professional and informative. Very much appreciated 🫡

I’m a firm believer in the community of MB ownership and would suggest some well known forums to join and search for specifics. All my best and good luck with the retrofit.

always put rags under the timing chain guides before you start to remove them or brittle plastic WILL drop down into the engine.

why put plastic oilers back that will pop again instead of getting aluminum ones that will never fail.

It was a decision based on many factors including experience, failure rates, mileage, cost, and lifetime warranty exchange with one of my vendors. In the end, if the same one fails it will get replaced with an aluminum upgrade. The work doesn’t bother me. If it ever requires a redo was also considered for making a follow up episode down the road. Thanks again for watching and cheers.
