Betcha all the fans there were excited about seeing the Cards clinching the pennant at home. Well....that excitement went out the window pretty quickly. :-\

Braves losing to an average Yankees team in the World Series got what they deserved. Should've saved those runs you scored in the last three games of this series for the next.

It always surprises me after how Atlanta won games 5, 6, and 7 against the Cards, and then how Atlanta won games 1 and 2 against the Yankees, it always amazes me how Atlanta just choked the rest of the series against the Yankees.

Offense went ice cold. Just like the start of the NLCS. Braves were so much better than that 96 Yankee team.

Even though the Braves came off the deck...I had saw this in 1992 against the Jays in the World Series. I still expected the worst...but they responded like champs back home.

I had forgotten how the first inning was a nightmarish combo (for the Cardinals) of seeing-eye hits and poor fielding. As a Braves fan, I was fine with this.

LaRussa's biggest mistake was pitching Stottlemyere on short rest. He should have started Alan Benes this game and had Stottlemyere ready for Game 6 if necessary well rested.

LaRussa denied putting Ozzie in the starting lineup out of emotional reasons. Yea right. Ended up costing him a trip to the World Series.

you think 1 player would've changed the fact that the braves score 14 runs?
@PakRT483 жыл бұрын
@@georgew84 not would've, but could've. It's baseball, anything could happen with just one shift. With regular Royce Clayton instead of Ozzie, Braves might've scored less than 14, more than 14, win by 1, lose by 5, you never know. But it definitely could've changed the outcome.

He had a .329 lifetime batting average against Smoltz.
@williamkanejr3233 Жыл бұрын
1. He hit Smoltz well. 2. The Braves had five runs in the first inning. 3. They scored nine more runs after that, and had 22 hits. There was no way that playing Ozzie Smith could have cost the Cardinals anything.
