Loved this race. Remember when Kinwald brought out the XX4 2 weeks before during the warm up race and everyone lost their mind. It was still in the R&D stages back then.

I still remember the crowd of people around the track the first time he drove it

One of the only Pro level races I have seen where a non-sponsored local driver not only TQ's but wins the A-main. Pretty much unheard of today.

This was an interesting race because the track surface was a lot different than what the California drivers were used to. The locals knew what tire to use and it took a couple days for the west coast drivers to realize that Losi step pins worked on this cracked surface. Hughes would have won on points if it wasn't for Hodapp's hacking, as seen near the end of this race.

Only complaint is I wish that wasnt packed so hard that it cracks. Miss seeing those awesome rooster tails and loose track conditions.
