This set reminds me of the DC Dark Judgement set. All villains with art by Sienkiewicz, Bisley, and Devito. Came out around the same time too if I'm not mistaken. Thanks for sharing 👍.

I love how it nevers occurs to you to bend the cards in the pack BEFORE you open the packs. Wow.

Any guesses as to what causes the issues with cards sticking ?

My first guess would be pressure over time and maybe temperature changes or degredation of the glossy coating as a second.

Grade the cards to sell to viewers as a deal

I think grading only makes sense if you can at least get a 9 or the cards are super rare. I don't think these would get such grades.

Cool hobby box break! I have about 50 of these cards. I had them since they came out. It's funny I had them opened out of the packs since packaging conception dates. Yet still damage to the embossed surface areas regardless

Okay, that's interesting. I assumed that it was similar to other sets were the glossy UV coating gets sticky over time, but maybe they just didn't let the paint dry enough before putting them in packs.

@@randomcollector2353 I always wondered if it has to do with vacuum sealing of the packs. Jams the cards together causing friction. It's strange though because I have purchased packs of marvel cards from the 90s etc recently. Some have no issues and some have terrible bricking. A month ago I had to throw away an entire box of cards from 1993 that bricked together

Wow, that sucks! I've also had very mixed results, worst offender were the '97 Marvel QFX cards, I basicaly had to tear them apart and only the acetate chase cards were okay. I think there are a lot of things that can cause this, pressure from stacking, humidity, temperature changes.

@@randomcollector2353 Yeah those qfx cards are bad. I have 2 sets of those. One in a binder and one loose. I left them loose stacked in a box and they stuck together out of the pack. That blew me away because they were in climate control. And out of the pack since 97. All my cards now period are penny sleeved and cased from now on. Protection for the future
