Smudger. Went to school with him in Pitsea, Chalvedon. Played at county level with him. He went on to play for local side Southend United I went up the pub and got a job on a building site. Legend at Gillingham. Well done Paul Smith.

Loved that season, my first away game, half my school year descending on Priestfield for the Wigan game and hiding all day from the result against Watford so I could watch it on a VHS tape my cousin had recorded off Sky. Legacy continues with Hess Jnr in our midfield these days.
