I had requests to do more cadillac videos so here you go, a 97 STS, please leave offensive comments and stereotypes out of the video, they will be deleted :) In this video I give a full in depth tour on a 1997 Cadillac STS. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds. A thorough review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Great cars! My parents still drive their 1995 Seville SLS and its got over 330k on it. its been the best running and most reliable car we ever had. The Northstar engines are a beast and sound great. The really do last a long time if properly maintained. Not much maintenance necessary for the Northstar. Excellent engines!

@@classiccarbuff I don't have any videos of the 95 Seville but I think I have one of the 94 on my channel. The 95 is currently in another state since a couple years ago. We have two other Seville's (94 and 00) that have also been excellent cars. As for my own vehicles, I drive an 05 Deville and a 93 Allante as my two everyday drivers next to my 1961 Cadillac.

IMO, the Seville is the best thought out, most elegant Cadillac GM has ever made. Just look at the design of the model in this video, than take a look at he 1998 design, timeless design, its updated but you can still tell its a Seville. The Deville was radically updated in 2000, but the 1998 resigned Seville favored the older model while providing refreshing updates. Im on my third Seville, 98 STS, 01 SLS, and now my 99 SLS, Great cars!

A central amplifier for al BOSE cars replaces the individual amplifiers. All STS Sevilles came with the BOSE stereo while the SLS was equipped with the base stereo and optionally with BOSE. The ‘98+ cars introduce the Theftlock feature for all sound systems. Cell Phone and OnStar was an option for ‘98-’00 cars and OnStar becomes standard after ’00.

My mom owned a green one exactly like this! It was a looker no doubt & very fast! It had 300 HP but the interior was very poorly put together! Things started separating months after ownership. I remember running against a BMW 8 series coming off an on ramp & buried the throttle & ran away from that bimmer effortlessly!

I sold this exact car and model but gold. Worst mistake of my life, it only had 156k km on it. It was so smooth, good on gas and the power was there when you need it, you can stick 2 12inch subs in the trunk and still help your crazy cousin hide a body. Worst mistake ever. This car stole my heart.

I know what you mean, mine was the shale color with gold sparkle in the paint. Had to sell it back in '13 with about 170 kkm, and I still miss it. Though in terms of trunk size, the Audi A8 has it beat... you can stash like 3 small frame persons in there ;-)

'98-'01 cars had 3 stereo options: 1. Base had tape and radio 2. BOSE had tape, RDS radio and in-dash CD and noise canceling microphone. These cars could be equipped with the new 6-disk CD changer mounted in the center console. 3. BOSE w/Navigation (CD based) fairly rare option almost exclusively for the STS.

@naterade21 Between '92 and '95 these cars had 2 stereo options: 1. Base w/o CD (tape and radio only) 2. BOSE w/ in dash CD and individual amplifiers for each speaker From '96-'97 the sound system was totally redesigned (w/addition of the steering wheel controls) but still keeps the two options: 1. Base w/o CD, (tape and radio). 2. BOSE w/ tape and radio and individual amplifiers per speakers but no more in-dash CD. Some (rare) '97 export cars had RDS radio.

Both sound systems after '96 could be equipped with a trunk mounted 12-disk CD changer. Most of the base cars came w/o the CD changer while most BOSE cars had the CD changer. Some early base models (SLS only) had no provision for CD changer. Cell phone was an option for both systems, ’97 w/cell phone get the OnStar (first iteration).

@naterade21 the cd was still optional. during this time cadillac also had cd-cassette combos(all models from 1994 on). if i'm correct, i think caddy's begin to install cd only in all their cars between '99-2001..i think..i'm not %100 sure but i know there were NO cassette players after 2001.

The Seville STS is more performance orientated and is slightly smaller and more nimble than the Deville. The 90's Deville Concours and the 2000s Deville DTS are also the same as the Seville STS. Body style is most noticable but all are great cars. I have both myself.

@Watcher3223 They say that 1qt/1000 miles oil consumption is normal but a lot of N* owners including myself have never experienced this. My oil is always full between oil changes. But mine gets her vitamins W, O, and T on a regular with 150,000miles on her original motor. The most common problem that leads to these supposed 'common Northstar problems' is that people do not drive them accordingly to how they were designed to be driven and lack proper maintenance.
