I just flushed, drained, & refilled my 2000 Ranger’s manual tranny. It is SOOOO smooth shifting now! Doubt it was every changed in 247,000 mi (I’ve owned it since 6,500 mi & never did it until yesterday).

Hi, did you ever post a video with the results from Blackstone? I couldn't find one if so! Thanks for this video - my '95 "new-to-me" Ranger probably has 20-year-old gear oil, too, judging by its engine oil!

Was you trans still shifting fine with all that metal on the magnet only asking because I’m fixing to do some major work on my trans and was thinking about rebuilding the trans while it’s out but it’s only got 169 k miles

Looks simple enough. In that transmission, do you think the higher end synthetics (Amsoil, Royal Purple, etc) are worth the expense or are the off the shelf ones good enough?

Great video man very useful but did you happen to know what the rubber filling is for on the transmission it's on the same side of the fill hole near more the engine it pulls right out

Im confused that you used automatic transmission fluid on a manual transmission. I tought 80 w90 gear oil was required.

no from 1989 and up on ford manual transmission they use auto fluid the transmission are built with very tight gears ;you will burn it up using gear oil
