1997 Mustang GT _ 6 Mods to Make Power _ Dyno Proven!

SN95 Mustangs for the 1996-1998 Model year were powered by a New 4.6 Liter Sohc engine making
215HP and 285 lb/ft of torque. The 185-1993 foxbody mustangs would walk all over the early SN95's
The PI 4.6 that came out in 1999 New Edge Mustang, was much improved and made 260 hp and 302 lb/ft of torque Making for a great engine swap into an older SN95. .. The 1996-1998 cobra with its 32 valve 4.6 made 305 Hp and 305 lb/ft of torque. . Some ofthe cool mustangs that came out during the period were the Mach 1, Bullitt, GTS, Saleen 351, SVT Cobra, Svt Cobra R, FR500, Steeda Q400, The Terminator Mystichrome and several others . .

You don't need to swap the whole PI engine. Just do the PI heads onto an NPI engine. You will get more compression because the NPI block had 11-cc dish pistons and the PI engine had 18-cc. The PI head on a NPI engine will give you around 10.5 : 1 compression.

FYI there were no Terminator Cobras or Mystichrome color options for SN95s. In 1996 there was a Mystic Metallic color option for that one year only. Mystichrome was a one year only color option in the New Edge era of Mustangs.

You want a non PI engine as a base. THEN swap the heads and intake to PI. More power in stock form that was ever released from the factory for CHEAP.

It's been modded more since the video. 7300 shift point Todd Warren custom cams, bbk Cia, 3.73 gears 97 block built non ported pi heads, ford pi racing intake mani, 05 24# injectors, long tubes, xpipe straight pipe, msd coil packs bbk 255 fuel pump. Recently went Pro-M standalone and easy gained some more hp. Car has more mods check it out on KZbin, Facebook and Instagram #teamshitbucket.

Todd Warren is a great dude and knows his stuff. Have a 98 gt in the garage. It’s definitely getting his custom cams in my car. These cars should be running tighter LSA cams and higher compression. Those are two secrets to making 2V power.
