What a rare game. Bob Griese watching his son Brian win a National Championship while broadcasting the game.

Yea couldn't agree more. 2003 and 2016 deserve to be in the conversation with the 97 team and this years team. We got robbed in 2016 with the best D (in terms of nfl talent) we've had for 20 years.

Totally missed this as I was completely focused on the bulls with michael Jordan. 1997 was a great year for the state of Michigan in terms of sports. Michigan football wins the National Title, Michigan hockey won the National Title, and the Detroit Red Wings won the Stanley Cup.

If you recall, WSU got away with a mugging pass interference to put them that far down the field. Otherwise those seconds are ticking by with WSU way down on the one yard line in Michigan territory. No issue with what turned out. The better team won.

I was at this game. Ryan Leaf was by FAR the best player on the field that day. He almost singlehandedly beat Michigan. I know all about the sad details but I, still am surprised to this day that he didn't make it in the NFL. Also, it wasn't the best game we played that year. It might have had something to do with it. I thought the team peaked against Penn State. edit: Ohio State almost beat us. We escaped by the skin of our teeth.
