@@robsenb16 Not bad at all. 0-100 was pretty decent. My brother has a FK2 now so it doesn't have the sound of this but its still really fun to drive. In fact a lot more fun than my 650 hp Camaro on our European roads.

b series is known for lack top end power. retard cam shaft timing improve engine power at high rpm but sacrifice power at low rpm vice versa. that is why i love k series engine since they have VTC so that the engine can maintain powerband across all engine rpm by continuosly adjust camshaft timing.

Went this year to Nordschleife in 31-y-o CRX Targa B16 160 hp, 5th gear on Autobahn 230 kmh on speedometer @ ca. 8.300 rpm. Not just for a tiny bit, i did it in one set for 10+ minutes. Pedal to the metal and locked in position! Still original unopened engine. For my trip i brought along 4 1l motor oil canisters. I used all of the oil. Did 10 laps on Green Hell and left half a litre of oil on the track alone :) Car has no airbags. Only driving AID is ABS which for a 90s is sketchy at best. *Madness!* I'll do it again next year.

9k RPM out of a DOHC 1.6 !!! Great engine and INSANE engineering. One of the most reliable engines on EARTH in DOHC 4c in the 1.6 displacement under 200 factory horsepower. If I add the excellent fuel economy and engine tune-ability (after market support), then this platform becomes total annihilation to just about every competitor. You can NEVER go wrong building a strong Honda daily. Every man should have 1 Honda vehicle in his fleet.

Welke versnellingsbak is er gemonteerd? De bak verhoudingen zijn redelijk lang volgens mij. Vooral in 5 merk je dat hij er toch niet meer echt veel zin in heeft. Maar anderzijds zijn we 2023 en al volledig verpest door turbo en elektro power. Als je bedenkt dat je dit in 1996 kon kopen en het gewoon een NA 1.6 is... Blijft toch heel indrukwekkend. Rijplezier heeft niet altijd iets met vermogen te maken :)

Hij blijft met overschakelen binnen VTEC range (>6000rpm), dus op zich is er met de verhouding niets mis. Maar het is een auto die leuk is vanwege de vermogen/gewicht verhouding. En dat telt op de snelweg niet mee, daar is het puur absoluut vermogen en luchtweerstand. Niet verassend dus met "maar" 200pk dat hij boven de 200 begint te piepen. Ik denk alleen als je een highway cruiser van een 90's civic verwacht dat je verwachtingspatroon inderdaad het probleem is :) En ja, 125pk per liter ongeblazen is nog steeds indrukwekkend vandaag. Honda blijft de beste motorfabrikant.

Vtec kicked in at 6000 RPM and the rev limiter is at 9000 RPM. Stock engine has the VTEC kick in at 5750 RPM while the limiter is set at 8500 RPM or less...
