Yes the seals can suddenly break if you don't periodically rebuild the carb. You could have kept going by gravity feeding the gas from a bottle.

@@andrefisher2540 with these models it is actually the same outboard, the 6hp can be made into an 8hp with carb adjustment and the 9.9hp can be tuned into 15hp

@@aleksandaraleksic6828 no i think 6hp and 8hp which are the same cybic centimetre can be converted to 6hp or 8hp and vice versa.the same is for 9.9hp to 15hp.but 8hp cannnot be converted to 9.9hp unless you change block.externally,these four(6,8,9.9,15)are the same.about 30-35kg.this model is 1994-95.
