I recently got a 2007 gz250 for $900 at 7,600 miles. Great bike. Kinda outgrowing because i got it to learn on but still like it. Ive barely hit 65 going downhill. Youre almost always going to get passed up by traffic on a 250. And they dont like going uphill too well. Looking into a 93 nighthawk 750 for later on. 20hp to 75hp is a big jump lol.

I took my MSF course on a GZ250. Lots of fun around a parking lot, but I'm 6'1" and ~200 lb, so it wouldn't work too well for me on the freeway. I got a Boulevard C50 after the course and used it to pass the unrestricted size test with no negative marks. Tons of fun. Thanks for the videos

Good for learning, for beginners, a first bike... Am I the only one who actually appreciates small bikes after quite a few years of experience with bigger bikes?
@friktionrc
@friktionrc 2 ай бұрын
no...from what I've read plenty of riders with years of experience are going back to smaller cc bikes thet used when first starting out....its like how most car drivers enjoy driving smaller older cars than modern faster ones....more fun riding a slower bike fast - all the fun with 0 speeding tickets, red line everywhere but max out at 50mph or so 😂...cant wait to get mine lol
@szopq
@szopq 2 ай бұрын
@friktionrc The high speed you don't really need most of the time is one thing. Another thing is handling and the weight. Also, pulling out my 650cc from the garage in a hot season for a 30-minute spin alone is simply discouraging. That's why I'm thinking of buying a cruiser not bigger than 350cc as a second bike.
@friktionrc
@friktionrc 2 ай бұрын
@@szopq Yeah def agree about handling and weight. Sat on a GZ last week and it felt so light compared to more powerful /modern bikes. I totally get why folks who have been riding for years are coming back to smaller cc bikes.

you can add a +1 front sprocket and make 1st gear actually useful, too. My wife has had one for a few years. The only bad thing about this bike is the tiny little carb will gum up pretty easy. Even when I thought I've drained the carb out good for winter.... This thing proves me wrong.

@o00scorpion00o
@o00scorpion00o Жыл бұрын
@@brett3722 Thanks for the reply, Yes I understand what you mean. I'm heavy too which probably wouldn't help + I got lots of hills so I'd probably want 300 - 400 cc Minimum. Originally I wanted a Maxi scooter, I sat on the Xmax 300 and surprised how big it actually is. Then there's the Burgman 400 and Forza 350 they all seem quite fast and more than enough for my needs but then I thought that it might be best to learn on a Manual bike. I sat on the Rebel 500 and it was really nice and comfortable, good seating position for my 5 foot 8 height. Yesterday I sat on the Yamaha XVS950 V-Star Bolt and I likes that a lot, 950 is probably too much starting off but it was a real nice bike but unfortunately the Rebel 500 and the XVX950 are well beyond my budget for now. I also sat on the CB125F and it was nice size for a more upright bike, it's light too so I can see the attraction to such a bike for learning, unfortunately it's around 3500 - 4000 Euro's here in Ireland but I did find the gear leaver to be a bit awkward. I like the Honda Shadow and might see if I can find a lower CC version , maybe 600 or 700 and learn on that but it's hard to find bikes anywhere near me because I have 0 riding experience and don't think I would be able to ride 40+ miles and I got to get someone to drive me there. I suppose I could get a company to deliver. But glad you still like the Marauder, says a lot after a year that you even still ride it 🙂 What year is your Marauder ?

Chris Fulton I just got a gz250 as my first, and I’m loving it so far:) was wondering if the downshifting is feeling rough or if it’s just me, as I have little to no experience, hence me here watching these videos, lol. But just wanted to say that while I suppose it wasn’t the wisest decision I’ve made, I hit a highway with no issues.. just one trip mostly at night, from Lexington ky, to Cincinnati up I75, just over an hr.. Stayed in the slow lane, and just enjoyed the ride, lol. I’m thinking I’ll take the longer back way next time tho, lol!

Next time you want to sell a bike, you should do your homework: to figure out # of cylinders and gears.

The TwinStar is a 185 cc. You work at a motorcycle shop and make vids for them. You really should do your research.

I’m 5’11 and it’s comfortable to me. This is the only bike I’ve ever ridden besides dirt bikes. Pretty cool just to beat around on. Very great bike to learn on for sure.

Nice moped 🏍 now take that to my grandmas house and tell her you want that but an actually baika and describe to her in detail (if you have a pic even better and in color better still!) but wait! There’s more....and then tell her how you felt when you wanted a bike and saw this one and if you know the parts of a bike or why you want the bike...that’s koo. But even BETTER if you can tell her who it was that inspired you to want one and what they did and bet you she’ll know them. 😇😅😘😁 I’m just happy that someone thought to customize a moped. Me personally I tried to do the moped thing but I felt like a cheater like it was too soft anyway and too easy and not at all like I earned anything. So I prefer a 20” regular bici but I won’t ride a motorcycle now cz I can’t, there’s too much metal plates in my body so the vibration rattles my muelas and makes it hard to see out of my eye sockets... Anyway, good luck! And your bike design kind of reminds me of that WordArt thing where it’s like the soft blow thing and then the solid color inside/outside of that lol it’s right
