I recently bought a 1998 Camry with some scuff on the lacquer for 4000 Euro. I love the car! Engine purrs like a kitten, automatic gear shifts without any issues. I deep cleaned the seats and carpets with a carpetcleaner yesterday. I had to laugh whenever I found another ' hidden' compartment for storage. I'm treating all the rubber today. It has gone 254.000 km, and I plan to take it over a milllion km. It will be an oldtimer in 6 years.

Still very happy, but did discover the exhaust is rusty and needs replacing. I guess it stood still at the dealer for a while. I did an oil change for engine and automatic transmission, as well as new all-season tires. Really love the way the car handles, and it has some power in her (I have a 2.2.L 4-cillinder model). It is not very economic in fuel of course, but I live in Europe. I'm paying more than you do in the USA. I'd say it does about 10 km on 1 liter of fuel, or let's say 25 miles on 1 gallon(free calculation in my head). Air conditioning is indeed very effective, much better than the 2011 Toyota Yaris I used to have. I love this car a lot more than I did the Yaris. I'm replacing and having it repaired bit by bit so it is in tiptop condition when it is an oldtimer.

@Vic Z are you nuts? You’re ruining Toyota reliability by putting a Chevy engine in that car. 5S-FE Toyota engine is among the most reliable Toyota engine of all time, and very similar horsepower. You won’t gain anything by putting a cobalt engine in. Turn a great car into a crappy car
