Mid mounted mufflers always sound better IMO. That is why the pre-2010 stangs sound better with Borla compared to the later models.

TheTexasHitmen Car Projects you know I bought some magnapacks and had a shop install them behind the axle. I have BBK shorty headers and a mac off road H pipe. It sounds really good and deep. Not loud anymore or maybe I'm a little more deaf lol but I've always wondered how different it would sound if they were in their regular location.

While the mid mounted mufflers do alter sound slightly I think you're overlooking the biggest factor in sound between gens- engine. -Justin

AmericanMuscle.com I owned Mustangs with different gen engines swapped in them and different exhaust setups and I liked the mid muffler systems the best. The old pushrod 5.0s do sound better with a chamber muffler like the original 40 series Flowmaster IMO. Straight though style sounds better with the modular drivetrains.

@@ragintaurusmusclemercury7023 I totally agree with you, I did a true dual style exhaust on my 5.0 V8 Mountaineer Premier first with a pair of Magnapacks and a 24inch stainless X-pipe. Hated the muffled tone so I got a pair of Loudmouth2s but it still sounds like a motorcycle with straight through bullet style mufflers.

If you guys don’t have an exhaust hanger tool you can use a pry bar, but it helps

Does both the Flowmaster Outlaw and Pypes M80 catbacks get close to loudness of the ATAK system? We all know the SLP Loudmouth2 1s are king of loudness!

I know it’s uploaded 3 years ago but I want to point out the exhaust clip volume is no where near the actual sound. It’s very loud compared to muffled clip here

I just installed these on 04 GT and it does not sound like this at all 💀. I live in Cali so i still have the stock H pipe with the stock cats since apparently theres no way to have an X pipe with cats. But my god i feel like i played myself and wasted $1300 for basically nothing. I should have just stayed with the muffler delete smh.

Unfortunately, no! The 2004 V6 did not have the true dual exhaust set up that the GT Mike one and cobra hat. If you want a Borla attack muffler put on, you’ll just have to order the muffler itself and have your stock muffler cut out, and the attack muffler weld it in.

AM has awful audio. Invest in some quality audio. You guys make enough to have that lousy iphone7 audio recording. The actual Borla Atak is 10x louder in person.
