I do as much research as possible, and I'm constantly learning. Thanks for checking out the video!

Evening, not sure if you'll see this comment, but worth a try. I installed the ps pump belt. But from the crank pulley the belt twists outward then straightens out towars the pump pulley. It's almost like if there is enough space to fit. The ribs sit well on the pump pulley and on the back part of crank pulley but as it goes out towards the pump pulley it twist out. Well thanks for all your well explained instructional videos. Very meticulous. It has been a great help. God bless.

I would love to see a video on pump and/or hose replacement. I think you mentioned you had a leak, maybe on the Legend? Thank you, I enjoy your meticulous approach.

Yes, the RL has a power steering leak. Thanks for watching the videos!

Any ideas on power steering leaks
@carapprentice2 жыл бұрын
Hoses and the steering rack are typical leak sites. I believe my RL has a leak at the high-pressure hose, but I haven't investigated it. Pouring some UV dye meant for power steering systems into the reservoir can help locate a leak's source.

@@carapprentice thanks I’m going to check out hoses and steering rack!!!

Very informative video brotha…. I have the same car and I notice the power steering fluid bubbling ( not like micro bubbles but kinda Ike boiling ). Is that normal ?
@carapprentice Жыл бұрын
A leak somewhere may have allowed air into the system. Do you have to periodically add fluid? You could try starting the car and turning the steering wheel from lock-to-lock to bleed out the air, but it may not work.
@bryanguzman9734 Жыл бұрын
@@carapprentice thanks… haven’t been checking the fluid level . Does your seems like it’s boiling ? Not more of foaming type of bubble on mine just seems like it’s boiling while the car is on and there’s no noise or anything.
@carapprentice Жыл бұрын
@bryanguzman9734 No, the fluid in my reservoir does not bubble...I do have a small leak, though.

Very detailed video.. where do you get your spec from.. like torque spec and such?
@carapprentice3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I get the specs from the factory service manual. I put a copy here is you need it: www.mediafire.com/file/uvbmryok1ax4vbs/Acura_RL_-_Factory_Service_Manual_%25281996-2004%2529.zip/file

When you turned lock to lock, was your car still on jack stands? I recently did mine and the p/s is squealing when I'm locking.
@carapprentice2 жыл бұрын
It's probably ideal to have the car on the ground, but I believe it was still on the jack stands - not sure whether it matters. Do the PS and belt otherwise sound and function normally? Maybe you're holding the steering wheel too long at the locked position?
@fullmetal42132 жыл бұрын
@@carapprentice I figured it out. Turns out that if the belt is too loose it will squeal and lock up the steering wheel. I wasn't sure initially because squealing occurs at both too loose and too tight tensions lol. Your videos have been an immense help, but one thing I notice is how envious I'm getting at how clean all your internal parts are, even the nuts and bolts. Part of the issue with my PS replacement was that my adjustment screw is rusty as hell, so tight or loose, it felt the same turning it.
@carapprentice2 жыл бұрын
@@fullmetal4213 lol. Yeah, rusty fasteners can be half the battle.

Did your belt rub against the crank pulley?

No, the belt doesn't rub against the pulley. Is yours rubbing?

@@anthonym5979 I would remove the belt and check for any noise or play in the power steering pump ball bearing. @@carapprentice I ended up doing too much research on part numbers 😐...because I ordered one from an eBay seller and he sent a 5PK950🤔 instead of a 4PK950 for the power steering... (correct package but wrong belt)🤨 Weird thing was I had also ordered a 5PK950 from a different seller for the A/C (but I don't need 2 of them!) 🤪
