from the shameful era when the judges for some reason had a change of heart post-nagano/mosely and decided to reward robotic uniformity above all else i.e. the finns and their twisters. in this vid look at sami (big break in mid section) and janne (ugly hop turn w leg split just before top air) not getting penalized at all and knocking rochon out of the medals. rochon had his trademark beautiful liquid turns and a ballsy creative bottom air but no dice. see also: leading up to salt lake the judges kept burning mosely any contest he threw a spin but the one final time in olympic qualifier he played along and just did TTS + TTT and they LET HIM WIN. and after nagano, salt lake city had a top 3 with nothing but traditional uprights, janne winning with TTTT + TTTS. btw janne is one of the sickest bump skiers ever, just making a point. even today FIS judges tend to be older recreational skiers with administrative backgrounds, not ex-competitors. total BS

Every one knew the rules. btw when the off axis jumps came in Janne continued domination.. 😝 I admid That Samisk made an bad turn. Behind the kicker jannes turns are like all the others. you have to get an straight balance line for the jump.. so legs wides stance.. Canadians are Just poor sucker losers..

Olavi Liikanen Do I sound like I'm dissing Janne? When Janne learned spins he was the best too. He's a legend. I'm just saying the judging was fucked in this era, I'm sure Janne would agree (he has coached me in the summertime before).

Olavi Liikanen Well you're wrong. I'd bet I'm just as big or a bigger fan of Janne than you are! I was there in person when he won his first ever duals WC medal in Blackcomb (back when the Finnish team didn't even have real team suits, Janne dressed like a regular skier lol), and I've followed his career since that point, and he has even coached me. I'm just saying that the best skiers of any era support progression - back when Edgar did the first quad (also at Blackcomb, it was HUGE, landed 3 bumps into the moguls, no problem) the judges fucked him, but did the skiiers hate Edgar? No the supported him, they hated the judges. That's what I'm saying.

DougglesMagnificent Well telling a finn who was born in the same area where Janne is born.. Lahtela is a legend in Finland. If you are so in to mogul skiing you know that before every jump skiers open UP legs.. Moseleys over all skiing wasnt at the level to be nro 1 in Salt Lake city. Judges decide. If you compare this and Mikko Ronkainens run at Olympics in 2006. There is an huge difference. All the medal runs were clean. And you could talk about Dale Begg-smiths gold run. Backflip gets better points then 720?? 🤔

一時期「ツイスターは2回まで」というルール(正式には、同じ技は2回まで)が制定された時期もありましたね。

個人的には、クワッド解禁から2006シーズンあたりが一番面白かったと思っています。 上下オフアクシス不可だったから、上でアップライトの720、下でコーク720とかで選手の個性が反映されていてよかった。 バックフリップに点が出すぎるようになって、つまらんくなった。
