This Miami team faced the #1, #2 and #3 team in the nation. With exception of running into Michael Vick’s Va Tech team, and a terrible upset loss to East Carolina. This Miami team stood toe-to-toe with all their opponents. Looking back you can see this team was on pace to be dominant in the early 2000s.

Ah yes, as a Michigan fan this was my favorite ohio state team ever. Austin Moherman & Steve Bellisari. Two years before the dark days where we'd lose to Tressel & Meyer a zillion times.

Cooper was on his way out. Can't believe he still lives in Columbus. I'd have stuck my head in a hole in Idaho if I had screwed up as badly as he did.

@darellhunter6621 I remember those days very well as a Michigan fan. Not only were his teams solid but those 1995-98 squads were better than most of Tressel's teams. Cooper got out-coached by Moeller and Carr. Shoot, in 96 he out-coached himself.

I knew going into 1999 season that Ohio State was going to have a down year. Even though they returned a talented team, it was not enough to offset all of the players they lost to the NFL draft that spring. The biggest problem that year was at quarterback as both Austin Moherman and Steve Bellisari were ineffective and inconsistent at the position all year long. Also their schedule included 8 teams that went to bowl games at the end of the year. Still at worst, Ohio State should have finished at least 8-4 and went to a decent bowl game.

Austin Moherman was the last quarterback they had that wasn't any good. Bellisari at least had his moments.

One of my all time favorite football games and not a fan of either team...i still dont know why, but it just had feel to it and a flow. The next year i went to see Penn st and USC play in this game. I think it was a build up and even the worst kickoff classics still felt special
